Rocket Rose
Privacy notice
How Rocket Rose Holdings Limited looks after your personal data when you visit this website, make an enquiry, work with us or apply for a role, and the rights you have over it.
Introduction
Rocket Rose Holdings Limited ("Rocket Rose", "we", "us" or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy notice (the "Policy") will inform you as to how we look after your personal data when you visit our website www.rrh.co.uk (the "Website") (regardless of where you visit it from), when you make an enquiry regarding our services or those of our businesses, when we are engaged to provide our services and during the provision of those services, when you apply for a role with us, or when you otherwise contact us. It also tells you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.
We collect and use personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and any other national implementing laws, regulations and secondary legislation, as amended or updated from time to time, in the UK (together, the "Data Protection Legislation").
It is important that you read this Policy together with any other privacy policy or fair processing notice we may provide on specific occasions when we are collecting or processing personal data about you, so that you are fully aware of how and why we are using your personal data. This Policy supplements the other notices and is not intended to override them.
1. Important information and who we are
Rocket Rose is the independent group behind Culinera, Thomas & Tate and Nimbyx: catering for education, hospitality for business and industry, and the technology that runs both. Rocket Rose Holdings Limited is registered in England and Wales as a private limited company with number 15299153, and our registered office is at Rose House, Old Sawmill Place, Bell Lane, Little Chalfont, Buckinghamshire HP6 6FA. The businesses in the Rocket Rose group are listed in the published statutory accounts of Rocket Rose Holdings Limited, available from Companies House.
Each business in the Rocket Rose group is a separate legal entity. This Policy is issued on behalf of Rocket Rose Holdings Limited, so when we mention "Rocket Rose", "we", "us" or "our" in this Policy we are referring to the relevant business in the Rocket Rose group responsible for your personal data when you engage with us. Rocket Rose Holdings Limited is the data controller for personal data collected through the Website and where you deal with Rocket Rose directly. Where you deal with one of our businesses, that business is the data controller for your personal data and its own privacy notice, published on its own website, also applies.
For the purposes of the Data Protection Legislation, being the data controller means that we are responsible for deciding how we hold and use personal data about you, and we are required under the Data Protection Legislation to notify you of the information contained in this Policy.
Rocket Rose Holdings Limited is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under registration number ZA643279.
We have appointed a Data Protection Officer who is our data protection point of contact and is responsible for overseeing questions in relation to this Policy and our treatment of your personal data. If you have any questions about this Policy, or would like to speak to us about the way in which we process your personal data, please contact the Data Protection Officer using the details set out in section 14 (Contact us).
Changes to the Policy and your duty to inform us of changes
Amendments and updates to this Policy may be made from time to time. Any revisions will be posted on the Website and, where appropriate, notified to you by email, so you will always be aware of what personal data we collect and how we use that personal data. Please review the Website regularly so that you are aware of any changes. The date on which this Policy was last updated is shown at the end of this document.
It is important that the personal data we hold about you is accurate and current. Please keep us informed if your personal data changes during your relationship with us, by contacting us using the details in section 14 (Contact us).
2. The personal data we collect about you
Personal data means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymised data).
Information you give to us
We will collect personal data from you when you:
- email, telephone or write to us with an enquiry about our services or those of our businesses, or complete the contact form on the Website;

- complete a feedback form or survey.
This personal data may include your title, first name, surname, date of birth, email address, telephone number, home address, passwords, bank details, National Insurance number, pension details and medical information.
The information we hold about you may also include:
- details of contact we have had with you in relation to the provision, or the proposed provision, of our services;
- details of any services you have received from us;
- our correspondence and communications with you;
- any details you provide when applying for a job with us;
- feedback forms or surveys you have completed.
Information we collect about you
We may also collect information through your use and browsing of the Website, including your internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, and other technology on the devices you use to access the Website.
Information we receive from other sources
We may receive personal data about you from third parties or from publicly available resources, for example from your employer or the business we are providing services to, from one of the other businesses in the Rocket Rose group, or from Companies House.
If you fail to provide personal data
Where we need to collect personal data by law, or under the terms of a contract we have with you, and you fail to provide that data when requested, we may not be able to perform the contract we have or are trying to enter into with you, or we may be unable to comply with our legal or regulatory obligations. In this case, we may have to cancel a service you have with us, but we will notify you if this is the case at the time.
3. How we use your personal data
We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to and in accordance with the purpose for which it was collected. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:
- where we need to perform the contract we are about to enter into or have entered into with you;
- where it is necessary for the performance of our contracts with our clients;
- where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) and your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests;
- where we need to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation;
- where you have provided your consent. In these limited circumstances you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time (see section 11).
We may use your personal data in the provision and administration of the services that you have requested and/or to respond to your queries. Where you do not provide us with certain information we may be unable to provide you with the services requested.
We may also use your personal data to meet our legal obligations, to deal with any complaints and for the enforcement of our terms and conditions.
We may use your personal data for our legitimate business interests, which include security purposes, improvements to the Website, improvements to our services, the management and support of the businesses in the Rocket Rose group, and general marketing purposes. We will not do so where our interests are outweighed by your interests, rights and freedoms.
Purposes for which we will use your personal data
We plan to use your personal data to:
- respond to your enquiry about our services or those of our businesses, including by passing your enquiry to the relevant business in the Rocket Rose group;
- carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us, or between us and our clients, and to provide you with the information, products and services that you request from us;
- review any job applications you submit to us;
- customise the Website and its content to your particular preferences;
- improve our services;
- notify you about any changes to our services or to this Policy.
Note that we may process your personal data for more than one lawful ground depending on the specific purpose for which we are using your data.
Anonymised data
In some circumstances we may anonymise or pseudonymise your personal data so that it can no longer be associated with you, in which case we may use it without further notice to you.
Change of purpose
We will only use your personal data for the purposes for which we collected it, unless we reasonably consider that we need to use it for another reason and that reason is compatible with the original purpose. If we need to use your personal data for a purpose unrelated to the original one we collected it for, we will notify you and explain the legal basis which allows us to do so before starting any new processing.
Please note that we may process your personal data without your knowledge or consent, in compliance with this Policy, where this is required or permitted by law.
4. Disclosures of your personal data
We will share your personal data with third parties where we are required by law, where it is necessary to administer the relationship between us, or where we have another legitimate interest in doing so. We may have to share your personal data with:
- the other businesses in the Rocket Rose group (each a subsidiary of Rocket Rose Holdings Limited within the meaning of section 1159 of the Companies Act 2006), for example where your enquiry relates to one of those businesses or where we provide shared services to them;
- business partners, suppliers and sub-contractors for the performance of any contract we enter into with them or you;
- third-party service providers who provide IT, cloud hosting and software services to us. These providers do not use your personal data for their own purposes, but hold it, or have access to it, on our behalf;
- advertisers and advertising networks that require the data to select and serve relevant adverts to you and others;
- analytics and search engine providers that assist us in the improvement and optimisation of the Website;
- credit reference agencies for the purpose of assessing your credit score where this is a condition of us entering into a contract with you;
- regulators, government bodies and law enforcement agencies where we need to do so to comply with the law;
- third parties to whom we may choose to sell, transfer, or merge parts of our business or our assets. Alternatively, we may seek to acquire other businesses or merge with them. If a change happens to our business, then the new owners may use your personal data in the same way as set out in this Policy.
We require all third parties to respect the security of your personal data and to treat it in accordance with the law. All of our third-party service providers are required to take appropriate security measures to protect your personal data. We do not allow our third-party service providers to use your personal data for their own purposes and only permit them to process, access or hold your personal data for specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions.
5. Marketing
Where the law allows us to, we may send you information about our services, or those of our businesses, which we think may be of interest to you. You can ask us or third parties to stop sending you marketing messages at any time by following the opt-out links on any marketing message sent to you or by contacting us at any time at GDPR@rrh.co.uk. You also have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes (see section 11).
6. Data security
We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those team members, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal data on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.
7. Data retention
We will only retain your personal data for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting or reporting requirements.
When assessing what retention period is appropriate for your personal data, we take into consideration:
- the requirements of our business and the services provided;
- any statutory or legal obligations;
- the purposes for which we originally collected the personal data;
- the lawful grounds on which we based our processing;
- the types of personal data we have collected;
- the amount and categories of your personal data;
- whether the purpose of the processing could reasonably be fulfilled by other means.
By law we have to keep basic information about our clients and customers (including first name, surname, username, date of birth, gender, title, marital status, address, email address and telephone number) for six years after you cease being a client or customer, for tax purposes.
8. Data storage
Personal data you provide to Rocket Rose is stored on our servers and on third-party servers. We take measures to ensure that any third parties hosting the Website and our other services have adequate security measures in place to protect personal data.
9. Recruitment
As part of our recruitment processes, we will collect personal data when you:
- upload your curriculum vitae for a vacancy listed on the Website or on the website of one of our businesses;
- complete an application form once you have uploaded your curriculum vitae;
- otherwise apply for a role with us or with one of our businesses.
In these situations we will collect personal data including your name, your home address, email address and telephone number, your employment details (including the name of your current employer, job role, work email address, work telephone number and work postal address), and your education and qualification details.
We will use your personal data to:
- assess your skills, qualifications and suitability for the work or advertised role;
- carry out background and reference checks, where applicable;
- assess your right to work in the UK in compliance with immigration rules;
- communicate with you about the recruitment process;
- keep records related to our hiring or recruitment processes;
- carry out data analytics, including the profiles of those applying for roles with us;
- comply with legal or regulatory requirements;
- send you job alerts where you have opted to receive them.
We may need to disclose your personal data for recruitment purposes to recruiters or reference checking agencies, the other businesses in the Rocket Rose group, HMRC and the Pensions Regulator.
10. International transfers
Your personal data may be used, processed or stored anywhere in the world, including in countries outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area ("EEA"). We will only transfer your personal data outside the UK or the EEA where the country concerned has been assessed as providing an adequate level of protection for personal data, or where the recipient of the personal data has provided adequate safeguards, such as contractual terms approved for use in the UK.
11. Your legal rights
Under certain circumstances, by law you have the right to:
- Request access to your personal data (commonly known as a "data subject access request"). This enables you to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you and to check that we are processing it lawfully.
- Request correction of any inaccuracies in the personal data that we hold about you.
- Request erasure of your personal data. This enables you to ask us to delete or remove personal data where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it. You also have the right to ask us to delete or remove your personal data where you have exercised your right to object to processing (see below).
- Object to processing of your personal data where we are relying on a legitimate interest (or those of a third party) and there is something about your particular situation which makes you want to object to processing on this ground. You also have the right to object where we are processing your personal data for direct marketing purposes.
- Request restriction of processing of your personal data. This enables you to ask us to suspend the processing of personal data about you, for example if you want us to establish its accuracy or the reason for processing it.
- Request the transfer of your personal data to you or to a third party where the processing is based on consent or on a contract, is carried out by automated means and this is technically feasible.
- Withdraw consent at any time where we are relying on consent to process your personal data (see below).
- Make a complaint at any time to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection issues, at ico.org.uk/concerns. We would, however, appreciate the chance to deal with your concerns before you approach the ICO, so please contact us in the first instance.
If you wish to exercise any of the rights set out above, please contact us at GDPR@rrh.co.uk.
Withdrawing consent
In the limited circumstances where you have provided your consent to the collection, processing or transfer of your personal data for a specific purpose, you have the right to withdraw your consent for that specific processing at any time. To withdraw your consent, please contact us at GDPR@rrh.co.uk. Once we have received notification that you have withdrawn your consent, we will no longer process your personal data for the purpose or purposes you originally agreed to, unless we have another lawful basis for doing so. Withdrawing your consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdrew it.
No fee usually required
You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal data (or to exercise any of the other rights). However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request is clearly unfounded, repetitive or excessive. Alternatively, we may refuse to comply with your request in these circumstances.
What we may need from you
We may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access your personal data (or to exercise any of your other rights). This is a security measure to ensure that personal data is not disclosed to any person who has no right to receive it. We may also contact you to ask you for further information in relation to your request to speed up our response.
Time limit to respond
We try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month. Occasionally it may take us longer than a month if your request is particularly complex or you have made a number of requests. In this case, we will notify you and keep you updated.
12. Third-party links
The Website may include links to third-party websites, plug-ins and applications, including the websites of our businesses. Clicking on those links or enabling those connections may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. We do not control third-party websites and are not responsible for their privacy statements. When you leave the Website, we encourage you to read the privacy policy of every website you visit.
